How to quickly and easily create a live event, add captions, security, repetition options and more

1. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can easily and quickly set u your own live event. Click the highlighted menu icon

2. Click Create Event

3. Enter the Title *

4. Enter the description

5. Enter the Start Date & Time *

6. Enter the time zone

7. Enter the End Date & Time *

8. Select the desired event manager

9. Click whether you want closed captions or not for your event

10. Click to choose single or multi-bit rate for your event. If you do not know, leave it set as is.

11. Click your desired channel for your stream. If you are not sure which to choose, you can contact your site administrator for more information.

12. Click to add cc translation links in descriptions. Example: Your source language is English and your translated video is Spanish. You will get two videos, each labeled either English or Spanish.

13. Your event is ready at this point. Let's explore more options you have to setup your event. Click Advanced

14. Click Select Event Image. This will show the image that will show on your event, whether your event is shown via a video URL or is embedded on a website.

15. Click Password if you would like to add a password that is required for viewers to attend your event live or on demand

16. You can simulcast your event on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
You can click on one or more and provide the information requested.
You can search online to learn how to provide the information requested.

17. Click to choose if you want a countdown timer that will show before your live event. You can also choose to display the event in a persistent player

18. You can also add Associated Docs to your event. You can add up to 5 documents, which can be board meeting agendas/notes, homework, etc.

19. For each document, add a title, description and a file to upload.

20. Click Save & Add MoreDo this even if you're not going to add more documents.

21. You can create a recurring live event. This was created specifically for live events such as daily news monthly updates, etc.

22. Select Daily or Monthly/Yearly

23. Click your choice. In this case, we select all weekdays. This is great for daily news or lessons.

24. Select Start date and time

25. You can either select End Date OR you can Enter Number of Recurrences *

26. You have more options to use Cloud Capture to refine your video and automatically upload it to the channel of your choice

27. You can select a Channel for your video to be available for viewing. It will be processed and uploaded for you automatically.

28. You can Auto Approve your video or Stay Private or Stay Private until Captions are Available

29. You can select Automatic Caption or Skip Captions

30. You can choose extract captions only after your video is trimmed.

To do this: make sure you do not Skip Cloud Capture. Your video will be available for you to edit in our Studio

31. Click Your Source Language. In this case, we select English

32. You can choose a translation language. Choices shown were chosen for your portal. There are over 100 available.

33. If you are a channel or site administrator, you can choose a channel for this video to be the default video.

34. Click Create Event!
Congratulations, you have created your live event. There is more you can do so stay with this video for just a few more directions.

35. Click Copy to get the RTMP URL and Stream Key. These will be used to setup OBS Studio to manage your broadcast. OBS Studio is a free download and you can use the document on this page to set it up correctly. Set it up now.

36. You will be taken to this page.Here you can Force your event to go live now rather than wait for the scheduled time. You can also Pretest Event Settings to be sure all is setup correctly.

37. To share your event, click Codes

38. You will see a number of options for sharing your event. Click Copy to get the codes for your desired option.
