Upload a video and set basic settings like title, description, channel, captions and translations

20 STEPS

1. In this video, I'm going to show you how to upload a file to your Eduvision portal. Note that you can upload videos and other files.

The first step is to login to your Eduvision portal and click the menu icon highlighted

2. Click Upload Asset

3. Click a file to upload. A file is most often a video, but can also be other types of files like Word or Powerpoint

4. Scroll down and click + to upload an image for the thumbnail. If you do not select an image, one will be generated for you from the video. After the video is uploaded you will have an option to select an image directly from the video

5. Scroll up and click Title *
to enter your video title

6. Click Description *
and enter a description for your video. It's a good practice to be specific about the contents of your video so viewers can find your video with a search

7. Click Select Channel *
You can start typing the name of the channel you want and it will will show up, or you can scroll down through the channels and click the one you want

8. Scroll down and click the highlighted icon to choose how you want to handle approvals for this video

9. You can choose Auto Approve, Stay Private Always or Stay Private until Captions are Complete.
In this case, we are choosing to auto approve this uploaded video.
Viewers need a URL to see a private video, so only those you inform will be able to view.

10. Scroll over and click highlight
to choose how you want to handle captions for this video

11. You can choose automatic captions, manual captions (you will upload a caption file later) or to skip captions

12. Scroll over and click to select your video's source language (one of 104 available). If you choose translation, Eduvision will translate from any language you choose to the language you choose in the next step.

13. Click Translation Language highlighted if you want to translate your video. If not, skip this step

14. Click the language you want to translate your captions to. The list available includes all the languages that were chosen for your portal

15. Click Start Upload
Your video upload will show on the left side of your screen.

Once your video has uploaded, you can create both thumbnail and embed images directly from the video itself.
Simply scroll through the video, stop at an image you'd like to use and click the highlighted icon to use that image

17. Notice that the selected image is now set as the embed image.

Click Save Changes

18. Note that above the video, there is a menu of advanced features you can use to customize your video. For this example, I chose Associated Docs where you can upload up to 5 documents to go with your video -- these can be homework, videos, agendas...

19. You can easily learn how to use these advanced features. Simply select any of the options, and there will be a help video icon available for you to click and learn how to use that feature

20. You have successfully uploaded your video. You are done unless you want to try more advanced features.
