Share Your Video!

Now you are ready to use your videos to enhance teaching and learning

to learn how to share your videos with your audience–through direct links and embedded videos in your blogs or websites.  In this first video, we’re focusing on sharing videos through a direct link.  Scroll down the page to find the video on sharing with embedded videos.

You can get to the video sharing options either after your upload a new video or after the video is published on Eduvision.

 

You can get to video sharing options in one of two ways.  

  1. After you upload a video, you will be presented with options.  To share your video, click on Direct Link and Embed Codes
  2. After your video is already published, click on Admin-Video Management-Review/Approve Videos.  Then find your video and on the right side, click on Codes

If you want to share your video with a direct link:

Click on Direct Links

You will see two options:

  1. Direct Player Link – this will show just your one video without showing your portal as well
  2. Direct Link – this will show your video within your portal

Click Copy the Code and then paste it wherever you want–in emails, documents, posts…

If you want to embed your video on a website or blog:

Click on Embed/Overlay

This provides you with ways to embed and display your video on blogs, websites, etc.  Let’s walk through each option.

Embedded Player

If you want to embed a video on your blog or website so it will play there directly, simply select the size you want, click on Generate Code, Click on Copy Code and then paste that code in your website.  Make sure you are in text or HTML mode when you paste the code.  If you need a different size for your video (most videos today are in 16:9 format, you can click on

Add/Remove Players

Select Aspect Ratio of 16:9 (or you may have a 4:3 video).  A 16:9 size I like to use (the size used on this page) is 480x270.  Once you have added a player size you like, click again on Embedded Player and follow the instructions, above.

 

Overlay Player

Let’s say you have a small picture on your website that you would like people to click and see your video, but you want the video to play larger than the picture… you want to select Overlay Player.   Then select your Overlay Image size and Overlay Player size.  See below (Add/Remove Players) if you need additional size options.  Once you have selected your sizes, then click on Generate Code, then on Copy Code and paste the code into your website.  Be sure to be in text or HTML mode when you paste the code.

Add/Remove Players

 Popup Player

If you would like people to click on some text with a link to see your video pop up, select Popup Player.   Then enter your Popup Text and select your Popup Player width and height.  If you need additional player sizes, follow the instructions, below.  Once you have selected your sizes, then click on Generate Code, then on Copy Code and paste the code into your website.  Be sure to be in text or HTML mode when you paste the code.
